Sing Out!

Sing Out –  Community Choir Project

Sing Out/Community Christmas Choir workshops are open to absolutely everyone: those who have some experience of singing in a group, and those who have none; those who can ‘sing in tune’ and those who haven’t yet ‘found their voice’… and they’re for anyone aged between 14 and 80!

Community Christmas Choir workshops:

We’re delighted that the CCC will again be directed by Sara Kimber, an experienced conductor, teacher and performer, and one of our music centre choral leaders.

There will be four workshops on the following dates:

Tuesday 19 November                   7-30pm – 9-15pm

Tuesday 26 November                   7-30pm – 9-15pm

Tuesday 3 December                     7-30pm – 9-15pm

Tuesday 10 December                    7-30pm – 9-15pm

Saturday 14 December – Christmas Matinée Concert 2pm (until 4pm)  at The Coton Centre, Tamworth B79 9AA.  This is a fantastic 500 seat venue, with tiered seating and wonderful performing facilities.   We will share the concert with both Junior and Senior ensembles from the South Derbyshire Music Centre

The cost will be £25 for the whole project (including music, CD and interval drinks), and you are really welcome to join us.   The CDs will have individual parts so that you can hear exactly what you need to learn and can listen to the music at home. There is no expectation at all that you have to read music!

As before for the Christmas projects, rehearsals will be at the South Derbyshire Music Centre, William Allitt School, Newhall, Swadlincote DE11 0TL; registration on the first evening from 7-15pm.  (This project is FREE to students)

If you would like to be part of this popular seasonal singing project, please simply e-mail us: coordsdmc@hotmail.co.uk

We look forward to having you with us, and the seasonal music will be varied and readily accessible.

INFORMATION FOR THE AUTUMN TERM 2019   We’re absolutely delighted that Richard Jeffries has been awarded a Churchill Fellowship which will enable him to visit other countries in September and October to learn more about choral activities with young voices.
